Give Practical Help

Donated baby and maternity items help AlphaCare provide practical support to women and families throughout Philadelphia. Many of these gifts stock Kim’s Corner, AlphaCare’s free baby boutique, where mothers can select clothing, baby supplies, and other essentials for their families.

Whether you give a few needed items, organize a collection with friends, or host a donation drive through your church or organization, your generosity helps us keep these everyday necessities available when families need them.

Our Current Needs

Help Us Stock Kim’s Corner

Kim’s Corner depends on the generosity of people who help us keep the boutique stocked with practical items for moms and little ones. Gifts both large and small help make sure families can find useful essentials when they visit AlphaCare.

CURRENT NEEDS:

Diapers: Newborn, Size 1, and Size 4
Girls Clothing: 0-3M, 3-6M, 6-9M, 9-12M
Boys Clothing: 0-3M, 3-6M, 6-9M, 12-18M
Maternity Clothing: S, M, L, and XL bottoms; M, L, and XL tops, all seasons, with a special need for fall and winter
Baby Essentials: Wipes, bottles, pacifiers, bibs, socks, receiving blankets, lotion, sippy cups, crib sheets, towels, washcloths, front carriers, body wash, shampoo, and diaper rash cream

Donation Guidelines

What We Can Accept

We are grateful for new items as well as gently used items that are clean and in good condition.

Diapers & Everyday Essentials

New and unopened diapers, Newborn through Size 6 and 2T-3T
New and unopened wipes
New and unopened baby wash, baby lotion, and diaper rash cream
New and unopened bottles, 4 oz. and 8 oz., and pacifiers

Baby & Maternity Clothing

New or gently used baby clothing, Newborn through 12 months
Outfits, onesies, sleepers, socks, hats, bibs, and shoes
New or gently used maternity clothing, sizes Small through XX Large
New or gently used towels and washcloths

Toys & Baby Items

New baby toys such as teething rings, developmental toys, and board books
New or gently used diaper bags
Larger baby items that are complete, clean, and in good working order

Cribs & Car Seats

For safety reasons, cribs and car seats must be new and unopened.

Preparing Your Donation

A little preparation helps our team get donated items ready for families more quickly.

Please wash gently used clothing before donating whenever possible.

Gently used items with nonporous surfaces should be wiped down with disinfectant.

For larger items such as strollers or highchairs, please make sure all pieces are present and the item is in good working order. Assembly instructions are helpful when available.

Opened diaper boxes can be accepted as long as the diapers themselves remain sealed in their original bags.

Items We Cannot Accept

To help ensure that everything offered to AlphaCare families is safe, clean, and ready to use, we are unable to accept:

Damaged, ripped, or visibly stained items
Used car seats, cribs, or Pack ’n Plays
Loose diapers or diapers removed from their original sealed packaging
Opened or partially used products such as diaper cream, wipes, lotion, or baby wash
Used bottles
Men’s clothing
Women’s non-maternity clothing
Expired formula or food

Give Together

Host a Baby Shower or Donation Drive

Churches, small groups, businesses, schools, families, and community organizations can help stock Kim’s Corner by collecting needed items together.

An AlphaCare Baby Shower is a simple way to gather friends or members of your church around a practical need. Churches or groups host their own event, inviting their own network to fellowship together. Instead of bringing gifts for one particular mom, guests bring baby and maternity items that will be shared with women and families served by AlphaCare.

Donation drives can also be organized around a particular need, such as diapers, baby clothing, or everyday baby essentials.
