VOLUNTEER

Volunteer With AlphaCare

Caring for women, children, and families takes a community.

Volunteers extend the work of AlphaCare in meaningful ways, through their churches, through practical service, and in roles that bring them alongside our staff and the women we serve.

Some opportunities may take only a few hours. Others involve an ongoing commitment. We want to help you find a way to serve that fits your gifts, experience, availability, and interests.

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:" 1 Peter 4:10

Ways to Volunteer

AlphaCare Ambassador

Bring AlphaCare into your church or community.

You do not have to come to the AlphaCare office to make a difference. Ambassadors help represent AlphaCare within their own churches, groups, workplaces, and communities, creating opportunities for others to learn about and support the ministry.

Host a Baby Bottle Campaign. Invite your church or group to take home baby bottles, fill them with donations over a few weeks, and return them on a designated date. It is a simple, visible way for individuals and families of all ages to participate together.

Host an AlphaCare Baby Shower or Donation Drive. Gather your church, small group, school, or organization to collect items AlphaCare currently needs. Rather than giving for one specific mother, the group helps stock AlphaCare so needed items are available for the many families we serve.

Create Your Own Fundraiser. A run, walk, community event, birthday, or other activity can become an opportunity to raise support and introduce more people to AlphaCare.

Deeper Involvement

Relational, Ministry & Specialized Roles

Some volunteers are looking for a deeper, more consistent way to serve. These opportunities may involve direct interaction with clients, mentoring, hospitality, professional skills, ministry involvement, or recurring service alongside the AlphaCare team.

For example, volunteers on the Mobile Medical Clinic Hospitality Team help welcome patients and community members, answer basic questions, provide hospitality, and allow AlphaCare’s professional staff to remain focused on patient care.

Through The Sisterhood Program, trained volunteer mentors are matched with women transitioning out of AlphaCare’s ongoing social services, offering friendship, encouragement, guidance, prayer, and a connection to Christian community.

Because these roles carry greater responsibility, some may require an interview, application, references, background clearances, training, or a regular commitment. AlphaCare will walk interested volunteers through the appropriate next steps.

Serve & Support

Put your time and hands to work.

Throughout the year, AlphaCare has practical needs that are well suited to individuals, families, church groups, and teams. These opportunities might include organizing or sorting donated items, helping prepare materials, delivering needed items to families, assisting with events, or supporting special office projects.

The exact needs change, which is why we would rather learn what you enjoy doing and contact you when the right opportunity arises than ask you to choose from a long list of jobs. AlphaCare’s existing volunteer program already includes a wide range of practical, program, event, office, operational, and development support opportunities.

Where Could You Serve?

Tell us a little about yourself.

Volunteer needs at AlphaCare change throughout the year. Sometimes we need an extra set of hands. Sometimes we need a particular skill. Sometimes an ongoing ministry opportunity becomes available.

Our Volunteer Skills & Interest Form helps us learn about your interests, experience, availability, and the kinds of service that might be a good fit for you. AlphaCare will keep this information in our volunteer pool and reach out as needs arise that match what you have shared.

Completing the form does not commit you to a particular role. It simply helps us get to know you and gives us a place to begin when the right opportunity comes along.

Volunteers in Action

Serving Together

We’re grateful for every person who chooses to spend a little of their time with AlphaCare.

Some come to lend a hand for a day, others return again and again, but each one brings something meaningful to the work. These moments of service may look different, but together they help us care well for women and families across our city.

“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone,” Galations 6:10a
